Karnali Academy & Simikot Hostel

This boarding school was created and built in 2012. Located in the Northwestern corner of Nepal, Karnali Academy provides bilingual education for 50 girls aged 6 to 14 who come from remote villages that lack the resources and infrastructure for formal schooling. Child marriage is still prevalent in this part of the country and education is one of the most important ways to secure a future of independence for young girls.

Kirtipur Hostel

This hostel located in Kathmandu is a short walk away from the secondary school the students attend. Once NCF students graduate from the boarding school in Simikot, they transition to the capital city where higher quality high schools and colleges are found. We house over 50 students in this hostel and the young women love living together.

Gargen Chyoling Nunnery

Located in the remote Lower Mustang region of Nepal, this 380 year old nunnery supports disadvantaged girls and orphans in the region. NCF helps with education of the younger nuns on math, reading, health sciences and to learn basic English. We have hired 2 full-time female teachers from Kathmandu to fill these roles and have also purchased computers and school supplies to support instruction.
